Here are a few donation pages The Princess Of Sarcasm, The One And Only Oka, Supahmommy. So go on over to one of these wonderful sites and see what you can do! Many prayers, well wishes and donations are needed, so anything can and will help. Let's give this mama and child some much needed support!

Aloha Friday

TGIF and Aloha Friday! Here's a description for any newcomers:

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link at the Aloha Friday post at An Island Life.  Don't forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends.

My Question for you is:  What does your paradise look like?

I've Been Tagged

Gregg over at Gospel Driven Disciples tagged me so I'm it!

IF I WERE A…MONTH; DAY; TIME OF DAY; SEASON; PLANET; DIRECTION; TREE; ANIMAL; MUSICAL; INSTRUMENT; FRIUT
FOOD; COLOUR; BOOK; SONG ; MOVIE; FLOWER; FACIAL EXPRESSION. WHAT WOULD I BE?

If I were a month I would be May, for that is when the pretty flowers strut their stuff!

If I were a day, I would be a Saturday, for it is the day to just relax and breathe in the fresh air.

If I were a time of day, I would be the moment the sun touches the horizon and shines on all

If I were a season, I would be Fall, for it is the time of wonderful sites and smells.

If I were a planet, I would be the Moon for it is the planet that reflects the Sun.

If I were a direction, I would be  East, so I could be front row and center when the sun peaks it's head over the horizon.

If I were a tree, I would be the Sakura, for it's beautiful blooms.

If I were an animal, I would be the Bald Eagle for it is a magical bird.

If I were a musical instrument, I would be the Piano for it's melodic sound that brings happiness to all.

If I were a fruit, I would be a  Watermelon, for it brings contentment on a hot day.

If I were a food, I would be Pizza, it both fills and satisfies.

If I were a color, I would be Pink, because that is my happy color.

If I were a book, I would be the Bible, for it has all the answers and comforts the hurting.

If I were a song, I would be Amazing Grace, for it tells a wonderful story of grace.

If I were a movie, I would be The Wizard of Oz, for it parallels life strangely enough.

If I were a flower, I would be a Tiger Lily, for it is the most beautiful of flowers.

Last but not least, if I were a facial expression, I would be a Smile, for it gives hope to the hopeless, love to the unloved, and grace to those who need grace.

Now I will tag 3 others...Ruby, Ellie, & Shannon.

I believe in the sun even when it is not shining. I believe in love even when I feel it not. I believe in God even when He is silent. *Written on a wall in a concentration camp*

Part 3...Johnny Dubois's Story

Johnny was born 3rd out of 6 children, the only one to live I might add, to Iva and Marty Dubois. They were a homely couple who fought more than anything else, but stayed together for lack of anything better to do. No one else would want them so they figured they may as well as stick together, after all they had met and married over 33 years ago, and not many couples could say that.

Marty was a day laborer at the local paper mill, while his wife Iva cashiered over at the towns butcher shop, Needham’s Fine Cuts. Both of them lived to eat and it showed. Marty was over 350lbs and Iva was pushing 250 herself, their health was not great, and as you can imagine it didn’t go over well with their doctor. They had both been told to lose weight or else deal with rising blood sugars, and a myriad of other health issues. Neither of them ever listened to Dr. Robert Spraul. As a result Johnny was their only child that lived.

Dr Spraul was one of two local doctors and his practice catered to the older and fatter crowd, specifically the diabetic crowd. Most of the other locals went to Dr. Steve Kincaid M.D. He was the nicer, younger doctor who catered to pretty much everyone else, except the few that went to doctors in other towns.

Johnny was 18 and trying to finally graduate this year, even though he should have last year. He had failed and had to take his senior classes all over again. Johnny was not happy about that, not to mention embarrassed, but he would never let on how he really felt. Mostly Johnny hung out with Earl Kinkle, his best friend. Earl was 19 and a high school dropout, he was pretty much a mooch. He had odd jobs that he earned a little money from, but nothing to really bring in the money he wanted. Earl also had some jobs that were of the criminal nature, but few people really knew what he was up too. Johnny knew.

Johnny worked at the paper mill, just like his father Marty. Not because he wanted to be like his dad, there were not really any other opportunities for someone like him, so he took what he could get. The pay was not the greatest but it was money and that was all he cared about these days. He worked Tuesday-Saturday 5-11pm with Sundays and Mondays off, and payday was every Friday. Sunday was usually the day Johnny would grab Earl and find a two day party to get lost in.

He was on a mission to get out of this small town as soon as he possibly could. Hopefully after his latest endeavor was accomplished, he’d be moving on in style. His plan was a simple one, but he would come to find out that kidnapping someone was harder to do than he first thought. It also should be given much more thought and planning than he or Earl had thought to do. Not that either of them had the brains to think it through properly.

I'm A Blogger Of Note or B.O.N. Wow!

Ahem, Ahem...Attention please!

I'm being featured today as a B.O.N. over at Words of Wisdom with Pam and Sandy...ya'll this is so exciting! I can hardly contain myself.

Well you just come on in and grab a drink, sit back and let me introduce myself. Ya'll comfortable?  Good....I'm Shannon and I love to write, I started this blog in February of this year, and just plum fell in love with the Blog-O-Sphere and the people within it's city walls. (Hint: That's You) Ahem, anyhoodles, I have 4 awesome children, 1 insanely adorable hubby, 2 mini-weiner doggies, a stray cat out back, and a partridge in a pear tree.

I am a stay at home mama, who's favorite quote is "If Mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy".  Most of my time is spent cleaning house, reading, watching t.v. , taking care of my family, going to church, and riding my new beach cruiser "Choncho" and these are in no particular order if you catch my drift.  I think you do! Moving along...

Let's see 3 of my all time favorite posts...hmmm...okay here's one you'll like "A Scary Story" this is a true life story of what happened to me when I was a teenager, oh, and here's another one you might find interesting Writer's Workshop Piece, it's about my sweet mama and I, and this last one is just funny "What The French, Toast", and it's about my mama's evil beast adorable kitty, Maggie!  So there are 3 of my favorite posts, some of what I write is serious and some, well, not so much! I like to throw a little humor in the mix!

It has been so nice meetin' ya'll and I hope we'll be life-long friends.  Now just look around and see what ya see, hope you find something you like, enjoy and God bless!
