Time away!

It seems I am constantly reminded of how much God wants a real relationship with me.  I have spent so much time on other things, and have given Him just a little of bit of me!

One of the things I spend time on is this blog. (No I am not going to quit blogging!) I spend hours pouring over ideas to share, pictures to publish, friends blogs to comment on.  How it shames me to say I don't give God that much time.

My heavenly Father loved me so much He gave His one and only Son to die on an Old rugged Cross, for my sins and I can't give Him at least as much time as I do my humble blog?  This just reminds me how much work God still has to do on me.

I am not there yet.  God is still molding and shaping me into what He wants me to be.  I love how God works.  He can take the smallest thing and make it the greatest lesson to share with me, or imprint on me, or use it to nudge me in the direction He wants me to go.  I can say without a doubt that God has shown me through this blog that I have a long way to go, and that He will even use this to remind me that He wants my time as well.

God wants to have a deep and meaningful and personal relationship with me, and you!  He longs for me to come to Him on bended knee or with tears in my eyes and give Him my burdens, crawl up in His lap and snuggle and tell Him my woes.  Wow!

What does all this mean?  Well, it means I need to spend more time with my Father God, and really connect with Him in a meaningful and deep way, not this quick and shallow way I have been doing lately. It means that anything can be an idol, even my blog, and I need to be aware that God wants to spend some time with me, Shannon King!

So, I am off to spend some time with my Heavenly Father, God!  Won't you consider giving Him some of your precious time too! After all, He is your Father as well, and if He is not won't you consider giving Him your life and allowing Him to comfort and guide you too.  For more information on following Christ go to your local church, or a friend who is a believer, or if you want, contact me and I would love to share His story with you!

God bless and May His face shine upon you today! As usual, please leave me some comment luv and I will get back to you as soon as I read what lovely things you have to say to me!

Lay your burdens down at His feet

...so my son's school calls today around 4pm to tell me that he was injured and was having trouble breathing, and like any responsible parent i rushed over there to check him out...he was running and felt something pop in his chest and then had trouble catching a breath...so they had him lay down and breathe slowly until i got there...all the while i am thinking okay so maybe he has a broken rib and it has punctured his lungs (you know what i am talking about) so i am trying to get there fast but not get a ticket...lol...that situation turns into an emergency doctor visit and and an xray...no punctured lung...:) but possible broken or dislocated rib...he will not be wrestling at his meet...now i say all this for a reason...the first thing i did when his school called was panic and speed (a little) but did i really pray...no...i sometimes do this (being honest now)when things get scary with my kids, i did say a short prayer (i think i remember doing this)but not the kind that i should have or wish i would have...I praise God because He still loves me even in spite of myself, He is Good All the time no matter if we are or not...I praise God because He chooses to bless me even when i (in my panic) forget to go to Him and give Him my burden, I choose to praise God in the good times and I choose to praise God in the not so good times...Tonight i praise God that my son is going to be okay and that i have been blessed with a wonderful husband who in the midst of all of this was home taking care of the other children and making us a nice hot dinner....
