T is for...Toby Mac

TobyMac

TobyMac, born Kevin Michael McKeehan October 22, 1964 is one of my Favorite music Artists.  His style of music is eclectic to say the least.  He first came out singing with the group DC Talk 1989-2000 and has since enjoyed a successful solo career with the release of four studio albums "Momentum" 2001, "Welcome to Diverse City" 2004, "Portable Sounds" 2007, and "Tonight" 2010, with some remixes in the mix as well.

Between DC Talk and his solo career he has sold more than 10 million albums, six #1 hit Christian singles, and received the Grammy Award for Best Rock or Rap Gospel album at the 51st Grammy Awards in 2009.  I will leave ya'll with this...my favorite TobyMac song of all...Boomin!

Go on over to Arlee @tossing it out and comment on some others blogs, but first leave me a comment or two as I love to hear what you have to say.

I started listening to the clip, but I'm at work and I was afraid someone would hear it. I didn't hear much, but I'm not sure it's my taste in music. Sorry! I think I'm too old for it. ;-)

I love Toby Mac. I have several of his songs on iTunes and my kids and I rock out on long car rides. So happy he is a success.

I grew up listening to DC Talk, I still have all their albums (cds/tapes). I love TobyMac solo as well, such uplifting and positive. I usually listen to him on my way into work, keeps me focused on the Lord throughout the day :)

Toby Mac isn't my most favorite (that spot will ever and always belong to Mac Powell ... sigh) but I have enjoyed some DC Talk. Good T choice! :)

Thanks as always for coming by and commenting! I'll try to write some Oak Grove memoirs after the A - Z Challenge wraps up. :)

My entire family loves TobyMac. My kids wanted Portable Sounds loaded onto their MP3 players first!

Have you listened to Fee? They are a great Christian group too. Another great voice is Todd Agnew.

Checkout my blog when you get a minute. I am new and trying to build up followers.

Today was the first I had heard Toby Mac, but I liked it. I have an eclectic taste in music, and even though I am almost 77 I liked his music. Thanks. I think age has nothing much to do with what kind of music one listens to.

Here's a funny story. Toby Mac is from where I live. Apparently, he is friends with all of my high school friends. (a Baptist Academy). I know his sisters pretty well--well, I did when I was in HS. I had never even HEARD of him, until one of my old classmates was like really? and filled me in. I do like DC Talk, though I didn't realize until reading your post just now that he was a part of it.
